We work with High School students in rural Kenya. Our work is structured around the community, including assigned teachers in the school for the project, the parents, and alumnus working in different sectors in Kenya.

Leadership Team:

Catherine Ngugi – chairperson

Catherine Wambui Ngugi is dedicated, organized, and embracing diversity, embodying the qualities of emotional intelligence, self-motivation, reliability, responsibility, being a team player, and hard work. Catherine is a trained addiction and psychological counselor with vast experience working with people who suffer from substance use disorders. She is also the Administrator at Presbyterian care center, a faith-based drug and alcohol rehab facility in Nakuru-Kenya. Catherine is passionate about campaigning against drugs and substance use and advocating for mental health Awareness.

Tae Young Ominde- treasurer

Tae Young Ominde is a brilliant young education enthusiast passionate about helping others, especially fellow youth, succeed in every circumstance. He is a medical doctor in Mombasa, Kenya. Tae Young has vast experience working with and mentoring students, having worked as a student advisor at Light Academy Boys Secondary School and as an international youth volunteer for Universal Peace Federation. When he is not spreading his infectious smile to anyone, he interacts with. Tae Young enjoys a stimulating game of chess and taking Online courses.

Scholastica K Kimeria: Executive Director

Scholastica is a passionate advocate for poverty eradication in Africa and is motivated by a life-long commitment to education and economic participation for rural youth and communities in Kenya. During her 25+ year professional career, Scholastica has held various positions in accounting, research and grants management in multiple companies in corporate America and non-Profit organizations. She is currently at the University of California San Francisco. She has served on several boards focused on poverty eradication in Africa, including Kenya Help US and one world children’s Fund in California

Njeri Macharia – Board Member

Njeri is a former Banker/ Insurance Professional who runs Besure Advisory & Insurance Agency. She is passionate about Small & Medium Enterprises in terms of their growth potential, how they positively impact the Kenyan economy, and addressing their risk management challenges. She is also passionate about the youth. We need to create a shift in their thinking and encourage them to use their intellectual capacity to become entrepreneurs.

George Munyiri - Board Advisors:

King George takes a vision and makes it a reality through sound strategy development. He naturally sees the threads of opportunity that wind through an organization, brings them together into an articulate whole, helps others extend their thinking, and drives business to a profitable trajectory. He is a U.S. Air Force Veteran and an inspirational leader who tells stories that inspire action while grounded in financial information that levers the business. Respected as a credible voice in decision-making, finding strategic business partners, and establishing governance boundaries, King George earns a seat at the table wherever he serves.

He leads mainly by example, always doing his best and encouraging others to do the same. While easygoing by nature, no one doubts his authority – he is direct and decisive when he needs to be. His employees, peers, and those up the ranks respect him.
